WHY NOT TRY OUR AWARD-WINNING SLEEP TECH?

Standard vs VIP Mattress Delivery: Which Should You Choose in 2026?

Every Simba order comes with free standard delivery to most UK postcodes, between 7am and 7pm. We also offer a VIP service for £50, along with a few paid upgrades you can add at checkout. The right choice usually comes down to what you've ordered, whether you want it set up for you on the day, and how much control you need over the delivery window. This guide sets out what each service includes so you can pick the one that fits.

What Free Standard Delivery Includes

Our standard next day service is free. Depending on the order, that's either a one person delivery to your door or a two person delivery to the room of your choice. During sale periods, please allow up to three to five working days. If the next day doesn't suit you, the checkout calendar lets you choose a preferred date from as early as the next day right through to three months ahead.

Our made to order bed range works slightly differently. They're delivered by a two person team to the room of your choice, and the courier gets in touch directly to arrange a date that works for you. Please allow up to ten working days for these orders. Standard delivery on a made-to-order bed doesn't include installation, so the frame arrives in the room ready for you to build.

Everything in your order is usually delivered at the same time, and you'll get an email as soon as it's dispatched.

Paid Upgrades On Standard Delivery

Two optional extras sit on top of the free service:

  • Specified Time Delivery, from £10. This lets you pick weekend delivery, a four hour time slot, or both, using the delivery calendar at checkout.
  • Mattress Unboxing and Packaging Removal, £10. Our delivery crew unpack your new mattress, put it on your bed ready to use, and take all the packaging away for responsible recycling. This one is currently available for mattresses on standard delivery.

Both are worth a look if you're at work during the week or you'd rather not deal with a roll of packaging on the day.

What VIP Delivery Adds

VIP Delivery costs £50 and is handled by a specialist team. They install your mattress or bed so it's ready to use straight away, and they take all the packaging with them when they go.

The scheduling is more hands on too. Our courier contacts you directly to agree a delivery time that suits you, then you'll get a live tracking link by email so you can follow the driver's progress on the day. The driver also calls you within an hour of delivery.

For larger and heavier items, particularly bed frames, having a team install the bed on arrival makes for a more seamless and stress-free delivery experience.

Adding Old Mattress Removal To Either Service

Both services can include collection of your old mattress or bed base for recycling, and you select the option at checkout.

With standard delivery, old mattress removal costs £50. We send you a protective bag in advance along with the instructions (although sometimes the courier brings it themselves), and you bag the mattress ready for the courier. With VIP delivery, removal costs £100 and the crew bring the bag with them and do the bagging for you.

The courier will collect from any room in the house. Just keep the mattress indoors, because a mattress left outside can get wet or damaged, which makes it unsafe to collect and unsuitable for recycling. If mattress removal doesn't appear as an option at checkout, we aren't operating that service in your area at the moment.

Choosing Between The Two

Standard delivery covers most orders comfortably, especially a mattress going onto a bed frame you already own. It's free, it can arrive the next day, and the £10 setup option covers you if you'd like the mattress unpacked and in place, and all your packaging removed.

VIP tends to suit bigger orders. If you're buying a bed frame and mattress together, replacing a whole bedroom setup, or you'd like a fixed appointment agreed with the courier in advance, the £50 covers installation and packaging removal in one visit. It's also the option to choose if you want an old bed base taken away, as base removal is available through the VIP service when you're buying a base from us.

If you're ordering a larger size, our super king size mattresses and other big bed sizes are the ones where a two person installation earns its keep, simply because of the weight and the space involved.

What Happens After You Place Your Order

Whichever service you choose, you'll receive an email once your order has been dispatched. If you want to change anything or add special instructions, please wait until that email arrives, because that's the point at which we can pass the information to our delivery partner.

With VIP delivery the courier gets in touch with you directly to agree the date, and on the day you'll have a live tracking link by email plus a call from the driver within an hour of arrival. Made to order beds with standard delivery also involve a call from the courier to arrange the date.

If you'd like your order now but your delivery later, the checkout calendar handles it. Pick the day that suits you and the order waits until then. For a delay of more than three months, contact us immediately after placing the order and we'll sort the arrangements out with you.

Delivery Outside Mainland UK

Surcharges currently apply to non mainland UK and Highlands addresses:

  • Standard delivery orders including a mattress or bed: £80
  • Standard delivery orders for accessories only, such as pillows, duvets and bedding, via DPD: £7.50

For these addresses, please allow up to 14 days for delivery, and up to three weeks for made to order products. A handful of postcodes sit outside our delivery network at present, and those are listed on our delivery page.

Accessories are delivered free the next day to most of the UK when you order before 1pm. In Greater London and the south of England, those parcels go out with HIVED's fully electric fleet, which reduces carbon emissions by up to 76% per parcel compared with diesel vehicles. For the rest of the UK, deliveries arrive via DPD.
