Human Rights Statement

Simba Sleep is committed to respecting human rights in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. This statement constitutes our formal human rights policy commitment and is approved by senior management.  

At Simba Sleep, we believe that great sleep starts with comfort, care, and respect—not only for our customers, but for everyone who helps bring our products to life. We are committed to respecting internationally recognised human rights across our operations and value chain.

Our approach is informed by leading international frameworks, including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and relevant UK legislation such as the Human Rights Act 1998.

This statement constitutes Simba Sleep’s formal human rights policy commitment and is approved by senior management. We are committed to operating in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Where this applies

This statement applies to Simba Sleep and to the business partners who support our products and services, including suppliers, manufacturing partners, contractors, and other third parties we work with.

We expect all suppliers and business partners to comply with this statement and applicable human rights laws. Failure to meet these expectations may result in review or termination of the relationship.

How we identify and address risks

We take a risk-based approach to identifying, assessing, and addressing human rights risks across our operations and value chain and we work to action any actual identified risks and mitigate towards any potential risks. This includes:

• conducting due diligence on suppliers and business partners  

• integrating human rights considerations into supplier onboarding and contractual requirements  

• monitoring risks on an ongoing basis  

• taking appropriate action to prevent, mitigate, and remediate adverse impacts where identified

No Forced Labour 

All work must be voluntary. Simba Sleep expects all employees, contractors, and suppliers to respect every worker’s right to freely choose employment and to leave employment in accordance with applicable law. Suppliers must not use forced labour of any kind, including prison, indentured, bonded, or trafficked labour.

No Child Labour 

Simba Sleep and our suppliers will not use child labour in any of our operations. Employees and contractors must be at least the age at which compulsory schooling has ended (with the exception of student employment permitted by local law) or the minimum age mandated by local law, whichever is greater.

No Harassment or Abuse

All workers must be treated with respect and dignity. Physical, sexual, psychological, or verbal harassment or abuse—including the use of physical punishment—is strictly prohibited.

No Discrimination

Workers must not be subject to discrimination (including in relation to hiring, salary, benefits, promotion, advancement, discipline, termination or retirement), on the basis of gender, race, religious or personal beliefs, age (other than normal and legally allowed hiring or retirement limitations), disability, sexual orientation, maternity or marital status, nationality, political opinion, union participation, social or ethnic origin or membership in any legal organization (or any other grounds specified by applicable Human Rights codes or laws).

Reasonable Working Hours

Simba Sleep employees must work reasonable hours, consistent with local industry standards and all applicable laws. Workers must not be required to work more than legally prescribed limits, must be appropriately compensated for overtime, and must receive statutory paid annual leave in line with applicable law (including 5.6 weeks per year in the UK).

Wages and Benefits

Simba Sleep is committed to ensuring that employees are paid least the higher of the prevailing local industry wage or the legally mandated minimum wage, and that all legally required benefits are provided.

Raising Concerns and Remediation 

We encourage employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders to raise concerns about potential or actual human rights impacts connected to Simba Sleep through appropriate reporting channels.

 All concerns will be handled confidentially and, where possible, anonymously, and without retaliation, in line with applicable whistleblowing protections.

 Where we identify that we have caused or contributed to an adverse human rights impact, we are committed to providing or cooperating in appropriate remediation.

Governance and Responsibility

Accountability for this statement sits with Simba Sleep’s leadership team. with oversight of implementation and periodic review to ensure ongoing effectiveness and compliance.

We monitor the effectiveness of our human rights approach through periodic reviews, supplier engagement, and internal governance processes. 

We keep this statement under review and update it as needed, at least annually.
