Our Hybrid® range

As part of our Hybrid® range, you’ll come across four different models of super king size mattresses. They include:

  • Hybrid®: The Hybrid® is our most accessible super king size mattress. It features 2,200 springs, 5 layers, and a depth of 25cm. To provide reliable comfort and support night after night, it includes a CertiPUR® foam base, a stabilising core foam layer, and a Simbatex® cushioning layer.
  • Pro: The Pro is a big step up from our Hybrid®, and unsurprisingly, it’s our best selling mattress. This model is built with 5,800 springs, 8 layers, resulting in a depth of 28cm. In addition to the 2 comfort springs layers and the SupportCore™ spring base, this mattress also comes with a wool top layer for enhanced breathability and temperature regulation.
  • Luxe: As the name suggests, the Luxe is one of our most luxurious mattresses. It’s designed with 6,800 springs, 9 layers, and a depth of 31cm. It features 3 comfort spring layers, a SupportCore™ base, and a bamboo/wool top layer - offering an even better level of airflow and comfort.
  • Ultra: The Ultra is our flagship mattress. It’s the best of what we have to offer. It features 8,750 springs, 11 layers, and a depth of 34cm. To provide world-class comfort, breathability, and support, it includes 3 comfort spring layers, a SupportCore™ base, and kapok, bamboo, and wool top layers - along with 2 Simbatex® cushioning layers.

Our Natural Hybrid® range

Our Natural Hybrid® range features three unique super king size mattress models that combine the best materials that nature has to offer with our award-winning sleep technology. They include:

  • Source: The Source is the entry-level mattress from our Natural Hybrid® range. It’s built with 3,500 springs, 8 layers, and a depth of 28cm. It features an Aerocoil® comfort spring layer, a CoreMax™ sprung base, and a number of natural cushioning layers including British wool (x3), Hampshire wool (x2), and a plant-based viscose layer.
  • Escape: The Escape builds on top of the Source, featuring 5,850 springs and 10 layers, resulting in a depth of 30cm. It features not one but two Aerocoil® comfort spring layers and a CoreMax™ sprung base, as well as a number of natural comfort layers, including British wool (x4) and Hampshire wool (x2) for enhanced breathability and support.
  • Apex: The Apex is our most premium natural model. It’s made of 8,100 springs, 12 layers, which result in a depth of 32cm. It includes three Aerocoil® comfort spring layers and a CoreMax™ base. To provide an exceptional level of comfort, airflow, and support, we’ve used some of the most luxurious natural materials, such as cashgora & silk, British wool, and Hampshire wool.

  • What size is a super king size mattress?

    A standard UK super king size mattress measures 180cm (W) x 200cm (L). As far as depth is concerned, it can vary from mattress to mattress, depending on the materials it’s made from and the number of layers it has. At Simba, our super king size mattresses vary in depth from 25cm to 34cm.

  • What firmness should I choose for a super king mattress?

    The firmness that you should choose for your super king mattress will depend on several factors, including the position that you like to sleep in, your body weight, and personal comfort preferences.

    If you are a light or side sleeper, a soft to medium mattress would be our recommendation for you. If you prefer to sleep on your back or stomach, a medium to firm mattress would work better, as it’ll provide your body with more support and prevent you from sinking too deeply into the mattress. This is also the case if you’re a heavier individual.

  • How does a super king mattress compare to a king?

    The main difference between a super king mattress and a king size mattress is in the amount of sleeping area they provide. A UK king size mattress typically measures 150cm (W) x 200cm (L), while a super king size mattress measures 180cm (W) x 200cm (L).

    This means that a super king size mattress offers an extra 30cm of width, giving each sleeper more personal space at night.

  • What bed frame fits a super king mattress?

    If you have or plan on buying a super king mattress, you’ll need to pair it with a super king bed frame. At Simba, we have a large variety of super king beds that you can choose from. To make sure that the bed frame you buy is suitable for your super king size mattress, make sure that the internal measurements of the bed frame are at least 180cm (W) x 200cm (L).

    In addition to that, also consider the depth of the super king bed mattress you have or want to buy and make sure that the bed frame can accommodate it comfortably.

  • How long does a super king mattress last?

    Most super king size mattresses last between 7 and 10 years. This can, of course, vary depending on the quality of the materials it’s made from, how frequently it’s used, and how well it’s maintained.
