How Does Simba’s 10-Year Guarantee Apply to Sale and Clearance Items?

Buying a bed or mattress during a sale can reduce its purchase price, but it is important to understand whether a discount affects the guarantee that accompanies it.

At Simba, our qualifying new mattresses, mattress toppers and beds purchased directly from us are covered by our 10-year guarantee, including eligible sale and clearance purchases.

There is, however, an important distinction between reduced-price new products and refurbished items. Understanding this difference, alongside the guarantee’s conditions, can help you establish what protection applies to your purchase.

Does the 10-Year Guarantee Apply to Sale Items?

Yes. Our 10-year guarantee applies to qualifying new mattresses, toppers and beds purchased directly from Simba, including products bought during promotional sales.

The purchase price does not, by itself, change the duration of the guarantee. An eligible product purchased at a discount receives the same guarantee period as the equivalent qualifying new product bought at its regular price.

Our guarantee begins on the delivery date, rather than the order date, and provides protection against qualifying manufacturing-related faults.

All claims remain subject to the relevant product guarantee terms and conditions.

Are Clearance Beds and Mattresses Covered?

Yes. Eligible new products purchased through clearance are also covered by our 10-year guarantee when bought directly from Simba.

A clearance designation does not automatically reduce the guarantee to a shorter period. The distinction is whether the purchase qualifies as a new product under the applicable guarantee conditions.

This means a qualifying clearance mattress, topper or bed can retain the standard guarantee period even where its selling price is substantially reduced.

Customers should distinguish clearance stock from refurbished products, as the applicable guarantee periods are different.

What About Refurbished Simba Products?

Our refurbished products, after a successful 30 day trial, have a one-year guarantee rather than the standard 10-year guarantee provided with qualifying new products.

This distinction applies regardless of whether a refurbished item is purchased at a price comparable to a discounted new product.

When comparing purchases, checking the product’s condition category is therefore important. A clearance price alone does not establish whether an item is new or refurbished.

The applicable guarantee terms should be considered alongside the product description before placing an order.

What Does Our 10-Year Guarantee Cover?

Our guarantee addresses qualifying faults that can reasonably be attributed to the manufacture of the product.

Examples identified in our guarantee guidance include cracked foam, faulty zips and significant dipping. The applicable full product terms specify the conditions and measurements used to assess faults.

These examples do not mean that every change in a product’s appearance or feel qualifies as a defect. An issue must meet the relevant conditions to be eligible.

Our 10-year guarantee information provides an overview of the protection and the separate terms applicable to mattresses, toppers and beds. If you've purchased a qualifying Simba mattress through an authorised retailer, you can also register your product with Simba to extend its guarantee from five years to a total of 10 years. You'll need to register within five years of the delivery date, and the extension is subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

What Isn’t Included in the Guarantee?

The guarantee does not cover ordinary wear and tear resulting from normal use. Accidental damage, including damage caused by pets, is also excluded. The same applies to damage caused by disasters or misuse, and to soiled products.

For additional protection, accidental damage cover is available on selected Simba products. This is separate from the manufacturing guarantee and has its own terms, conditions and exclusions, so check the available cover for your chosen product before purchasing.

The guarantee is therefore different from accidental damage insurance. Its purpose is to address eligible product faults rather than compensate for every incident occurring during ownership.

A reduced sale or clearance price does not remove these exclusions or change the requirement to comply with the guarantee conditions.

How Do You Keep the Guarantee Valid?

Our guidance sets out several care requirements intended to maintain your product’s condition.

These include using an appropriate base and a mattress protector, and protecting mattresses, toppers and beds from moisture and exposure to the elements.

Mattresses must also be rotated 180 degrees on their base regularly: once a month for the first three months, followed by every three months thereafter.

Following these requirements is important whether your product was bought at full price, during a sale or through clearance. You can find the full conditions, including the care requirements that apply to your product, in our guarantee terms and conditions.

How Do You Make a Guarantee Claim?

If you purchased your Simba product through an authorised retailer rather than directly from us, contact that retailer within 30 days of noticing any potential fault, with your proof of purchase available.

For purchases made directly through our website, contact our customer care team with proof of purchase available.

We may arrange for an independent quality team to assess the reported issue. Our customer care team will explain what happens next where an assessment is required.

Customers who purchased through an authorised retailer should contact that retailer first, even where the product has subsequently been registered with Simba.

Frequently Asked Questions
