The Apex is designed to offer the sort of cloud-like cushioning that helps you relax the minute you lie on it.
Our engineers wanted to create a sensation of being very gently hugged, at the perfect temperature. They found the answer in Nature: first, luxurious cashgora wool, which is thought to be as soft and breathable as cashmere but produces a more durable yarn; it comes from the Cashgora goat, which helpfully sheds its coat naturally every Spring. Next up silk: irresistibly smooth but also one of the strongest natural fabrics on the planet. Together they’re designed to offer sublime cushioning and fresher sleep.
But we also wanted the Apex to feel as blissful throughout its life as it does on Day 1. Step forward Hampshire wool; like all wool it’s renowned for its breathability and is valued for its resilience and durability.
BODY ALIGNED SUPPORT
CoreMax™ sprung base
Few people know more about springs than our mattress experts. So when they told us they’d discovered a new, even better sprung base design, we were all ears.
The CoreMax™ base is cleverly designed to provide softness at initial touch, but complete body support when you lie down; it features up to 1,000 high carbon steel pocketed springs in seven different zones of firmness to match the needs of the different parts of your body – plus it’s reinforced by a steel frame to minimise roll off at the sides.
The result? Cushioned pressure relief and body aligned support. From side to side, top to bottom.
GIGANTIC SPRING COUNT

Our ingenious Aerocoil® spring is our own, patented design, and we decided to feature a whopping 5,700 of them in the sublime Apex. Because the way we see it, more springs equals more support and more breathability. For a better night’s sleep.
A layer of up to 1,900 titanium alloy, Aerocoil® micro springs nestle in the upper part of the mattress. They’re pocketed and conical; you can’t feel them, but they compress gently in response to your body as it moves, encouraging responsive support and limiting motion transfer.
But two further layers of Aerocoils® sit further down through the mattress, where they help provide crucial extra support for heavier bits like hips and shoulders, while encouraging the flow of fresh air through the mattress.

Our Earth mattresses start life on the Hampshire Downs, not in factories. Because that’s the home of the clever sheep who produce that unique Hampshire wool.
The factory where our experienced craftsmen and women work their magic is in Hampshire too. And although we might use high tech machines to give us the precise measurements and weights for every layer, it’s these highly skilled teams who guide the layers into place, fill and close the mattress - not too tight, not too loose; it’s a gentle art that requires lots of care and experience to do properly.

This Earth mattress is delivered flat by our partners AO in damp proof plastic wrap, with cardboard corner protectors. We offer free delivery to most of the UK and usually seven days a week when you pick a date from our online delivery calendar; it’s quite heavy, so we recommend delivery to room of choice and children kept at a distance during delivery and unpacking.

Silk and Cashgora: responsibly sourced from China
Aerocoil® springs; 5,700 titanium alloy micro springs (based on king size mattress) manufactured in Leeds, enclosed in polypropylene pockets.
Sprung base: 1,000 high carbon steel barrel springs (based on king size mattress) manufactured in Hampshire and enclosed in polypropylene pockets featuring GRS certified, fire-retardant layer at base.
Ticking/cover: plant-derived viscose featuring bio-based (98%) fire retardant on top surface and sides. -
This mattress has a non-removable cover, so we strongly recommend using a mattress protector to prolong the life of your mattress; the mattress should also be regularly aired, ideally for a few hours a day.
There is no need to turn this mattress, but it will develop natural dips and body impressions so we recommend rotating it head to foot every couple of months for the first 6 months, and twice a year thereafter.
Never use a vacuum cleaner of any kind to clean this mattress, because it may displace the natural fillings. Dust should be removed with a so brush and spillages should be mopped up with a dry cloth; if you need to sponge the mattress, please use a damp cloth and a very mild solution of soap and water. Do not use bleach. -
This Simba mattress comes with a 10-year guarantee, so if it develops a manufacturing fault during that time we’ll exchange it for a new one.

You’ll be pleased to know the answer is no: you don’t have to turn it, but you do need to rotate it. Think of it as the 'no flipping way'. Rotating your Earth mattress regularly is one of the very few conditions of your 10-year warranty. Take it for a 180 degrees spin often within the first 3 months, then drop down to twice a year for the rest of its life. It’ll help your mattress stay comfortable for longer.

At Simba, we’re committed to sending no mattresses to landfill. That’s why we’ve designed our Earth mattresses to be mostly glue free, which facilitates easier recycling when they reach their end of life. As part of this commitment, we also offer a reasonably priced, specialist mattress recycling service on our site via a trusted third party, with no Simba mattress purchase necessary.
