Our single bed mattresses are a standard UK single size, measuring 90cmW x 190cmL; we also offer the slightly longer, European Single mattress size in our Hybrid® Original model. The height of our single mattresses varies according to the design: our Earth range is packed with natural mattress materials and our signature sleep tech, with the Apex design measuring 30cm deep; the luxurious Ultra is the deepest of our Hybrid® mattresses at 34cm deep. If you’re buying bunk bed mattresses look out for our Hybrid® Kids mattress ; it features all our unique tech but at 16cm deep it’s a safe height to use with bunk beds. Most of our single mattresses arrive boxed, so they’re easy to for you to manoeuvre up the stairs. Others – like our Earth range – arrive flat, but we’ll deliver them to your chosen room for free. In any case, do check that a single mattress is the best size for your bedroom. Once you’ve put your tape measure away, you need to consider who you want to buy a single mattress for, and how often it’s going to be used. Bear in mind, it’ll get heavy use from kids and teenagers, who’ll need good support and space as they grow. And don’t forget, if you’re buying a single mattress for a bunk bed you need to choose a one with a shallower depth – like our Hybrid® Kids Mattress. Our mattresses are designed to offer responsive support to your body, rather than being firm or soft. So what does that feel like? It’s about the correct balance between a top layer that reacts to your body shape and weight, on top of a layer that gently stops that response. For optimum support to be achieved you need both these layers and their functions: without the responsive comfort layer it would be like sleeping on a wooden plank, without the firmer support layer it would be like sleeping on a bouncy trampoline.

My child gets hot at night. What’s the best single mattress for kids and teenagers that overheat?

All our Hybrid® Mattresses are packed with Simba sleep tech and engineered to support longer, deeper sleep, but we have a wide range of single mattresses at different price points. But for overheating kids and young people whose shape is constantly changing, we particularly recommend our Hybrid® Pro, Luxe or Ultra mattresses, plus our Earth range. They’re excellent all-rounders, designed to offer enhanced freshness and responsive support.

How to care for and maintain your single bed mattress

There’s no need to turn it over to prolong its life, but we do recommend you rotate your single mattress head to foot once a month for the first three months, then once every three months for the rest of its life. For our single Earth mattresses, twice a year after the first few months will do. This is to keep all the natural mattress fillings more comfortable for longer. Most Simba mattresses feature a removable cover which you can wash, but we also recommend you get one of our machine washable, quilted cotton Mattress Protectors to help keep your new single mattress fresh and clean.

How long will my single mattress last?

We’re confident all our Simba mattresses will go the distance, which is why we offer a 10-year guarantee on all new mattresses. Manufacturing faults are rare, but if you stumble across any, just let us know and we’ll replace it with a brand new one.

I want to help fight climate change. Do you sell refurbished single mattresses?

All the mattresses that are returned to us in their trial period, we strive to recycle or refurbish them. It’s not just kinder to the planet, but it gives mattresses another life, since we’re keeping them from landfill. It also makes our unique Simba sleep tech more accessible to everyone. Because everyone deserves a great night’s sleep. So yes, we definitely do sell refurbished single mattresses. When you send them back to us, they’re tested and sanitised by our expert renewal team, then certified by Simba. Each one includes a 1-year guarantee. Are Simba single mattresses recyclable?

We don’t want any of our mattresses to end up in landfill, so all the single mattresses for sale at Simba are suitable for recycling via our collection service or specialist providers. If you return yours in your 200-night trial (or under our 10-year guarantee), it’ll be refurbished. Any with too much wear and tear go on to be recycled. Once your mattress reaches the end of its life, we have a specialised Simba Mattress Recycling Service on our site. All you need to do is pay a small fee, and we collect it for you. Is there a delivery charge for Simba single mattresses?

No, standard delivery takes place within 48 hours to most UK postcodes and is free of charge, even in single mattress sale periods. In sale periods, Standard Delivery may take up to 5 working days and VIP Delivery up to 10.

Is there a free trial period on Simba single mattresses?

Yes. You have 200 nights to try our single mattresses without losing your right to return free of charge: if you decide you’re not happy within that time, we’ll collect it from you for free.

Do Simba also offer mattresses in larger sizes?

If you’re looking for something really spacious and luxurious, have a look at our range of Super King Mattresses; they’re the largest mattresses in our range so it’s ideal if you have children that creep into bed with you at night.
