  • Why are some Simba mattresses delivered in a box?

    Delivering a mattress in a box (rather than flat) is more practical on many levels, but the most obvious benefit is that it’s much easier to deliver it to the room you want to use it in - whether upstairs, down corridors, or round corners. It’s also much more efficient to transport a rolled up mattress since they take up less space - we can fit more mattresses in each van which helps reduce the number on the road. In addition, the smaller size of a vacuum packed mattress allows gives us the capacity to collect your old mattress for recycling when we deliver your new one.  

    Each one of our original Hybrid® designs is now delivered as a rolled mattress. However, due to the natural materials used in our three Natural Hybrid® mattresses, they have to be delivered flat.

  • Does rolling up the mattress damage it in anyway?

    Absolutely not!  

    Thanks to the all the ingenious Aerocoil® springs and open structured Simbatex® foam we use, our Hybrid® mattresses contain lots of air – it’s one of the reasons they feel so comfortable! So it’s pretty simple to vacuum pack them; they’re then rolled and placed into a protective, plastic casing, followed by a sturdy cardboard box. And once delivered and opened, a vacuum packed mattress will just reflate naturally, fully regaining their shape in a day or so. 

  • Is the packaging of my vacuum packed mattress recyclable?

    Yes, it is. The plastic, protective wrap on your rolled up mattress can be recycled with plastic bags at your local supermarket or recycling centre, and the cardboard box can be recycled via your kerbside cardboard collection.

  • Can you use a mattress in a box straightaway?

    Ideally you would allow a rolled mattress six hours to reflate before you use it, and up to 72 hours for it to regain its shape fully.
