Saving 'Sleep Divorce'

3 min read

Couples who have seen their relationships strained by sleep differences have been pleasantly surprised by the results of a state-of-the-art bed available at Simba.

The “comfortable” and “supportive” Greater Manchester-made mattress is already a huge hit with shoppers who have praised it for alleviating the effects of ‘fidgety sleepers’ and ‘snoring’ partners.

Giving the Hybrid® Original a five-star review on Trustpilot, one reviewer, Julia G said, “Haven't had a full nights [sic] sleep for many years as my husband has a medical condition and snores dreadfully. But thanks to Simba this is a thing of the past, hasn't cured the snoring but certainly much improved and am able to get more good nights sleep.”

Shopper, Naomi O, pennedSomehow my partner no longer snores!! I also barely feel him getting in and out of the bed which is great for not disturbing me. Wish we’d have invested in Simba a longggggg time ago but better late thank [sic] never they say!"

A third, Irene W wrote,Really pleased with this mattress, at last myself and my husband are having a good nights sleep thank you simba.”

Investing in a new mattress is a significant decision, both for your comfort and your bank balance. Paul R said “Last year my girlfriend declared that she would no longer stay over at my house due to not being able to get a good night’s sleep, and unfortunately not for the reasons you’re thinking of. She’s used to the finer things in life and my budget bed was simply not cutting the mustard.”

He continues his review by saying “After some gentle persuasion and also purchasing some new high-end sheets, my girlfriend agreed to stay over again. I’m pleased to report that all is well in the bedroom department now and we’re both enjoying a comfy night’s kip. According to my Fitbit I’m also getting about 1 hours extra sleep per night.

Thanks Simba for helping me to save my relationship, I was starting to think it was me she was avoiding and not the mattress….”

A fifth satisfied customer Keith K, who was impressed with the Hybrid® Pro, shared “I went to Simba and ordered the Hybrid pro mattress which was delivered in less than 12 hours to my door (amazingly quick service) Now talk about sleeping in cloud 9. Me and the missis absolutely love the mattress and it's so comfy. Not too hot and full body feels supported. With having new baby we are up quite a few tines with the baby with feeding and last few days have loved a cheeky afternoon nap and it's hard to get back up. Also the top zips off for easy washing specially [sic] for any accidents with the baby. Massive thumbs up from me and the missis "

Using the data of 10+ million sleepers, Simba’s mattresses have been designed by experts to suit every sleep style and body type. Users in seasoned marriages can also attest to this.

Showering the Hybrid® with other five-star reviews, Emma S sharedDon't feel my partner move at all and he doesn't say anything about me fidgeting to get comfy. The springs are great and it has a nice feel to the fabric. The free mattress protector is a bonus”.

A new study by Simba reveals a big generational divide on sleep's importance in relationships. Over 60% of young Brits in relationships (aged 18-34) believe better sleep would improve their connection with their partner, while only 33% of baby boomers (aged 65+) agree

Crafted from 5 layers of clever materials, with 1,900 supportive titanium Aerocoil® micro springs, based on a king size, an extra deep layer of Simbatex® foam adds elasticity for cushioning comfort. The foam base of the plush 25cm deep Hybrid® features nine support zones designed to mirror the body, especially heavier, wider areas such as the hips and shoulders.

Mum, Linda M added: “I bought this mattress for my daughter and her partner! She could not believe how amazing she slept and couldn’t feel her partner move throughout the night. She said she can now fall asleep on her back rather than having to get to a certain position. I am the most awesome mother 😜"

‘Sleep Divorces’ where couples opt for separate bedrooms to escape snoring, fidgeting, and night-time disturbances are soaring in popularity. While stars like Cameron Diaz advocate for de-stigmatising this trend, citing improved sleep, there are downsides.

Simba’s research, polling 2,000 people in the UK, has discovered that 60% of Gen Z (respondents aged 18-24) and 66.5% of millennials (25-44) believe that a better night’s sleep would improve their relationship. In contrast, 3 in 10 baby boomers (65+) believe that sleep would improve their relationship with their partners.

Another content customer, Emma T says “The 3 in 1 hybrid duvet is an amazing addition if you can take the cost because it's not cheap but wow I can't see how Simba could improve on it. It regulates temperature perfectly. I'm a warm sleeper my wife is always cold but under this duvet and on the perfectly regulated temperature of the mattress we're both sleeping like babies.”

Sleep expert Lisa Artis, Deputy CEO of the Simba’s charity partner, The Sleep Charity believes that younger couples should “consciously recouple and sleep better together” and say goodnight to the sleep divorce.

“While sleeping separately might seem like a solution to individual sleep issues, the benefits of co-sleeping for emotional bonding, conflict resolution, and overall health and well-being make a strong case against sleep divorces. Compared to sleeping individually, studies have shown co-sleeping was associated with about 10% more and less fragmented REM sleep”
