Simba are committed to the Science Based Targets Initiative, to align our own sustainability goals with the urgent, global need to reduce greenhouse gases (GHG) as quickly as possible. This initiative defines a clear, science-based path of action plus access to the knowledge of expert climate scientists from all over the world; they help us identify our most important targets, mobilise our best resources and use the most effective technology.
All our mattresses are designed in the UK by sleep experts, helping you to reach your best ever night’s sleep. To ensure the highest quality possible, they’re carefully engineered by suppliers and craftspeople in both the UK and Portugal using specially selected materials. The result? Award-winning comfort and support that feels as good on the last night as it does on the first.

Every year, 14,000 tonnes of mattresses are sent to landfill in the UK. A number we’ve been shrinking since we launched our not-for-profit Mattress Recycling Service. When we recycle your Simba mattress via our trusted third partners, at least 80% of it gets recycled; last year we saved 6,550 mattresses from reaching landfill, and we’d love to save even more. And we’ve made it easy for you to get involved on our site. It doesn’t need to be a Simba mattress, you just book your collection, pay a small fee, and we’ll do the rest.
Ever wondered what happens to your mattress if you return it to us? Thanks to our trusted Return and Refurb service, we give it a life that goes beyond your 200-night sleep trial. Never compromising on quality, we test and inspect it rigorously, before replacing any parts we need to – no corner cutting allowed. Then we sanitise to hospital standards before offering them back to you at a discounted price. Last year alone we refurbished 15,620 mattresses, and it’s so good, our service even received Commended at the BRC’s Climate Action Showcase’s Reducing Waste category.
It’s not just the BRC’s Climate Action Showcase we’ve picked up recognition at; in 2024 we won the Circular Economy Silver award at the Global Good Awards for the trusted Mattress Recycling and Refurb services on our site and our commitment to minimising waste in our production process. And in 2022, our work was also awarded by Real Homes, where we took home Winner for Eco Brand of the Year for our awareness of the impact we have on the planet. We’re delighted to be making a real impact, and since we’re determined to meet out our Net Zero by 2030 pledge, we’ll strive for even more.
