Discover Our Collection of Single Mattresses

At Simba, we design and manufacture two different categories of single mattresses. They include our Hybrid® and Natural Hybrid® ranges. Within the two mattress categories, you’ll find eight different types of mattresses, each one built with the same quality and attention to detail, but tailored to suit different sleep preferences, support needs, and budgets.

Within our Hybrid® range, you’ll come across five different types of mattresses, ranging from our entry-level model (Essential) to our flagship mattress (Ultra). Each model builds on the last by adding more layers, depth, and comfort-enhancing features.

Our Natural Hybrid® range features three different types of mattresses. They include Source, Escape, and Apex. As the name of this mattress category suggests, these models combine our sleep tech with the best quality materials that nature has to offer, with the goal of enhancing breathability, comfort, and overall sleep quality.

How to Find the Right Simba Single Mattress

Finding the right single mattress can be tricky, but it’s absolutely essential if you want to get consistent and high-quality sleep night after night. To help you make the right choice, in the sections below, we’ll go over some of the main factors that you need to consider before buying:

Sleeping position

The position that you sleep in will determine how your body weight is distributed and where pressure builds up overnight. So, when choosing a single mattress, you have to take into account your preferred sleeping position (side, back, or stomach) and choose a mattress that can provide your body with the level of support it needs in that position.

If you are a side sleeper, we would recommend a softer mattress, such as our Hybrid® Luxe or Hybrid® Ultra. If you’re a back or a stomach sleeper, we’d recommend a firmer mattress, such as our Hybrid® Essential or Hybrid® Pro.

Body weight

The weight of your body will have a direct impact on how comfortable and supportive a mattress feels. If you are a lighter individual, a firm mattress might feel too hard and uncomfortable. If you are a heavier person, however, you might find that a firm mattress provides just the right amount of support and prevents your body from sinking too deeply into the mattress. So, when choosing a Simba single mattress, always take your body weight into consideration.

Preferred firmness level

We’ve already talked about how lighter individuals are better suited to softer mattresses, while heavier people can benefit more from a firmer model. However, following this logic doesn’t mean that you should ignore your personal comfort preferences altogether.

Firmness is still a subjective factor, and what feels comfortable for one person may not feel right to another. So, when choosing a single mattress, it’s important that you find a firmness level that not only suits your body type but also feels comfortable to you from the moment you lie down.

Temperature regulation

Being too hot at night is one of the biggest reasons for poor-quality sleep. So, if you’re a warm sleeper, you’ll want to look for a mattress that can help regulate your body temperature and promote airflow throughout the night.

At Simba, we have a handful of single mattress models designed for warm sleepers across both our mattress categories. The single mattresses that we’d recommend to you include the Luxe and Ultra from our Hybrid® range and the Escape and Apex from our Natural Hybrid® range.

Budget

And last but not least, make sure to set a rough budget for your mattress. This will not only prevent you from overspending but also help narrow down your options, which will make choosing a single Simba mattress a whole lot easier.

The good news is that our single mattresses come at various price points, making them accessible to individuals with vastly different budgets. To make our mattresses even more accessible, we also offer flexible finance options, so definitely take them into consideration if you’d rather split the cost of your mattress over time.

Why Buy a Simba Single Mattress?

Over the last two decades, we have sold over 50 million mattresses across 35 countries around the world - an achievement that reflects both the trust our customers place in us and the consistent (and improving) quality of our mattresses. Other reasons why you should buy a 3ft single mattress from Simba include:

  • We offer a 200-night free trial on all our mattresses
  • We offer free next-day delivery to almost all postcodes in the UK
  • All our mattresses come with an industry-leading 10-year guarantee
  • Our mattresses have won a total of 15 awards over the years
  • We have 350,000+ five-star reviews* (and counting)
  • We offer a number of flexible finance options

  • What size is a single mattress?

A standard single bed mattress measures 90cm (W) x 190cm (L). When it comes to depth, it varies from mattress to mattress, depending on the materials used and the number of comfort layers inside. At Simba, the depth of our single bed mattresses varies from 20cm (for our Essential model) to 34cm (for our Ultra model).

  • Is a single mattress suitable for adults?

Yes, a single mattress can absolutely be suitable for adults who don’t need to share their bed with anyone else. The 90cm of width that a single mattress offers is more than enough for a full-grown adult to get a comfortable night’s sleep. In terms of available width, an adult sleeping on a single mattress is the equivalent of two people sharing a super king-sized mattress.

  • Which single mattress is best for a child?

From the Simba collection of mattresses, our Hybrid® Kids Mattress is the best option for a child (aged 3 and above). This mattress, which our expert sleep engineers designed specifically for children, features our patented Aerocoil® springs and Airy CertiPUR® foam cushions, which will provide all the support a child needs throughout the night while keeping them cool and comfortable.

In terms of size, it measures 90cm (W) x 190cm (L) x 16cm (D) - the perfect size for a snug and safe fit into a single or a bunk bed frame.

  • What is the difference between a single and a small double mattress?

The primary difference between a single and a small double mattress is the width of the mattress. While a standard single 3ft mattress measures 90cm in width, a standard small double mattress is 120cm in width, or 30cm more.

  • Can I use a single mattress in a bunk bed?

Yes, you can. You just need to make sure that the single mattress you buy can comfortably fit within the frame of the bunk bed and that it doesn’t exceed the maximum weight or depth recommended by the bunk bed manufacturer.
