Why Choose an Upholstered Bed?
If you’re trying to decide whether an upholstered bed is the right option for you, here are a couple of reasons why they’re one of the most sought-after bed types on the market and the right choice for you.
Enhanced Appearance & Comfort
At Simba, we have designed our upholstered beds to look just as good as they feel. They’re not only one of the easiest ways to elevate the overall look of your bedroom without a full redesign, but a great way to add a layer of comfort that you’ll notice from the very first night.
Improved Warmth and Cosiness
The fabric and padding that neatly wrap around your upholstered bed do more than just look good. They also help retain warmth, which will make your bedroom feel noticeably cosier, especially during the cold winter months. If you have ever climbed into bed and felt the chill of a cold wooden or metal frame, you’ll appreciate just how much of a difference an upholstered finish can make.
Safer for Children
Unlike beds with exposed edges, our entire line of upholstered beds has soft, padded frames, which are far more forgiving if your little ones bump into them during the night or first thing in the morning. For parents, that peace of mind is well worth having.
Choosing the Right Upholstered Bed
When you browse through this page, you’ll come across a large variety of upholstered beds that you can choose from. To help you choose the one that best suits your bedroom and personal taste, there are a few key things worth thinking about before making your decision. They include:
The Fabric
The fabric that your bed is upholstered in will play a major role in its overall appearance and comfort. So, choosing a fabric that suits your bedroom aesthetic and individual taste is very important.
At Simba, our upholstered beds are available in six different fabrics, each with its own distinct look, texture, and feel. That way, whether you’re looking for a plush velvet bed frame or a bed upholstered in luxury Chenille, we have a fabric to suit every bedroom aesthetic and personal preference.
Headboard Style
The headboard style will have an impact on the entire look of your upholstered bed and how well it fits within your bedroom’s current aesthetic. The good news is that at Simba, we have 10 different upholstered bed models that you can choose from, each with its unique headboard style, so finding one that you like isn’t going to be too much of a challenge.
Size of Bed
Another very important factor that you need to think about is what size upholstered bed frame you want to go with. To decide, you should first measure your bedroom and determine how much space you have available. Then, take into consideration who will be sleeping on the bed.
At Simba, our upholstered beds are available in four different sizes, including Single, Double, King, and Super King, so whether buying for a guest room, your child’s space, or for you and your partner, we have an upholstered bed in a size that’ll work for you.
Caring for Your Upholstered Bed
Fabric beds require a little bit more upkeep and maintenance compared to wooden or metal beds. To keep your upholstered bed in good condition, we recommend you use a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush to remove any dust on a weekly basis.
If you spill a drink over the fabric of your bed, use a soft, dry cloth or a paper towel as soon as it occurs. Make sure that you don’t rub, as that will only make the situation worse. Instead, gently blot the affected area to absorb as much of the liquid as possible - working from the outside of the spill inwards to prevent it from spreading further.
In regards to the placement of your upholstered bed, we recommend that you keep it away from direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can cause the fabric to fade over time and affect the richness of the colour.
