The concert, which took place over the course of eight hours in Philharmonie de Paris, was live streamed around the word. For the lucky few that managed to secure tickets, a Simba Hybrid® Mattress was provided to drift off on. The addition of our new generation mattresses, brought the experience closer to the audience than that originally imagined by its creator. On their own Simba mattress, each person could enjoy comfort conducive to sleep, exploring all states of consciousness and the strata of neural receptivity to this musical phenomenon.
"We spend a third of our lives sleeping, and 'Sleep' is an exploration of our subconscious: music comes into this space while our consciousness is on vacation," explains Richter.
Born in 1966 in Berlin and trained at the University of Edinburgh and the Royal Academy of Music, Richter has firmly established himself as a reputed post-minimalist composer. He is the author of numerous film and series scores, including Ari Folman's ‘Valse with Bashir’, Martin Scorsese's ‘Shutter Island’, and more recently Denis Villeneuve's ‘Premier Contac’ and the ‘Black Mirror’ series.
