You might have spotted our most recent collaboration with Crisis and something we call the ‘Simba Art Collective’ but just in case you missed it, let’s get you up to speed.
James, our CEO and founder, said: “sleep is a basic human need and sleep deprivation has a devastating impact on mental and physical well-being”. Crisis is an incredible charity you may have come across, they are dedicated to ending homelessness across the UK and to changing people’s lives for good.
So how was the Simba Art Collective born exactly? Crisis use art classes as a way to rebuild confidence and reconnect homeless people with wider society, so we couldn’t think of a better way than to let 5 super talented artists loose on a mattress and create 5 original works of art! These pieces have been screen-printed onto 100 Limited Edition mattresses which you are able to snap up online with all profits being donated to Crisis, but it doesn’t stop there…
Throwback to last week when the Simba team were out in force at the Simba Art Collective launch where we auctioned off the 5 original works of art created by Camille Walala, Kate Moross, D*Face, Natasha Law and Freebeez. We raised an amazing £5750 for Crisis, saw the artworks suspended from the walls, had copious Margaritas and danced to one suited up DJ.
Our end goal is to help Crisis at Christmas where they prepare an amazing 33,000 meals and provide companionship and cheer to 11,000 people. We will also be donating 5% of the profits from all mattress sales online for November and throughout December. For more info hit ‘Collective’ at the top of the page!
